The Webhallen Minecraft Texture Pack Grand Prix has finally come to a close. During the last couple of months we've recieved a steady stream of entries for the competition, over 300 submissions all in all.
The overall quality of the packs we've recieved has been extremely high, and we're very pleased to see the hard work and dedication that the Minecraft fanbase has put into this competition.
Picking a winner has been a huge challenge, alas, it had to be done.
So, without further ado, here we go:
1st place - "Pixeludi" Wojciech Mroczek
A very stylish and thoroughly made texture pack that refines the Minecraft experience while still staying true to the original look of the game.
2nd place - "Candyland" by Nathan Long
Candyland is a quirky and fun pack that hearkens to the legacy of James Pond. The perfect pack to cheer you up on rainy days.
3rd place - "Eld" by Jonatan Pöljö
An extremely well made and polished pack for the Minecraft gamer that is looking for an old school RPG feel
Due to failure to adhere to the rules of the competition we were forced to strip Demichina of first place.
Our first place finisher will not only be rewarded with a 180 GB OCZ Vertex 2 E SSD signed by Notch, which also comes preloaded with Minecraft (a pretty big deal), but also a signed painting by Kristoffer Zetterstrand, estimated retail value 25000 SEK (3700 US$).
Our second place finisher receives a 120 GB OCZ Vertex 2 E SSD signed by Markus "Notch" Persson and pre-loaded with Minecraft.
Our third place finisher receives a 90 GB OCZ Vertex 2 E SSD signed by Markus "Notch" Persson and pre-loaded with Minecraft.
Webhallen and Mojang would like to thank everyone who participated in the competition.
